September 2005 Opening Prayer

by: Meg McGarry

Help us today, Lord, thru the courageous actions of your Blessed Mother and the knowledgeable words of St. Anne, to delve deeply into the love manifested by Your paschal mystery. May the desire in our hearts to fuse with You – blaze to a new level of understanding and co-operation in soothing Your suffering and troubled world.

Dear Lord, at this wonderful time of Harvest, please bless this meal and the loving people who grew, gathered and prepared it – and let it nourish us – as we strive to do the work of Your Kingdom – here – on earth.
Amen.

September 2005 Closing Prayer

by: Father Peter Onyeso

He was wounded for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the punishment that made us whole, and by his bruises we are healed.

He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.

Lord by your blood you purchased men of God, from every tribe and tongue and people and nation may the mystery of your passion and death, achieve its salvific reconciliatory purpose among nations, among men/women, and with God.

And may the entire human race embrace themselves as one family of God, in the bond of mutual respect, unity and peace. Amen
