September 2004 Opening Prayer

by: Kathleen Tschantz

Good and gracious God,
help us to search for your wisdom throughout our days.

Grant us patience and kindness,
to support those around us.

Give us the strength to ask for help when we need it;
do not let us fear dependence on others.

As we grow older,
help us to learn from our own mistakes and each other.
May we grow closer to You,
and deepen our relationship with You, Lord,
every day of our lives.

Proverbs 2:2-5
"Listen carefully to wisdom;
set your mind on understanding.
Cry out for wisdom,
and beg for understanding.
Search for it like silver,
and hunt for it like hidden treasure.
then you will understand respect for the Lord,
and you will find that you know God."
