Akron native, Philip Maynard is Chairman and CEO of ASW Properties, Ltd, a real estate and development company with affiliated operation in logistics and material handling. He was born and raised in Akron, graduated from Archbishop Hoban High School, and graduated from the University of Akron after 4 years of service in Vietnam.. He worked as a dock worker for Akron Storage and Warehouse Co. and progressed through various positions to the presidency. In 1981 he purchased Snyder Distribution Centers, Inc., and 2 years later changed the name to Akron Storage and Warehouse. In 2006 he was named vice chairman of ASW Global as the company is now known.
Phil has received many awards including the Distinguished Alumni Award from Archbishop Hoban High School in 1991, and the Eagle Award from FirstMerit Bank for outstanding economic contributions to the Northeast Ohio region in 1995. He was also the recipient of Bert A. Polsky Award in 2008 for his dedication to local humanitarian causes.
Maynard is chairman of the Akron Children’s Hospital Foundation Board, Chairman of the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland Foundation Board, a Founder and Trustee Emeritus of the First Friday Club of Greater Akron, and on many other boards in the Akron area.
