Generous God, you smile upon the wide diversity and beauty in the humanity whom you have created, but you weep at the great divide between the rich and the poor. I come today with the taste of ego-centeredness on my spiritual breath. I beg to have greater awareness and a deeper commitment to what will heal my world. Help me to make good decisions about my daily living so that who I am and what I do can have a positive effect on my brothers and sisters everywhere on this vast planet.
Awaken me each day to gratitude for all that I so easily take for granted. Touch my compassion so that I know the pain of the hungry, the violated, the homeless, the burdened, and those who yearn for some of my riches.
Compassionate Creator, stir in my soul. Call to me again and again, to be a true child of the universe. May I be attentive and alert to how you would have me live my abundant life. Grant me the generosity to share it with others.

Loving God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
We thank you for the gift of Catholic education, which is a treasure to all as it inspires us daily to be teachers of the gospel.
May our faith in you guide us to be dedicated to our purpose of making a difference in the lives of all those we teach by our words and by our actions.
May we encourage our students to lead and to serve as we enlighten their minds, touch their hearts, and inspire their souls.
May we live the life that we wish to see in this world and may we be guided in the paths of justice, wisdom, and compassion.
We thank you for the blessing of dedicated teachers, parents, administrators, priests, religious, and brothers, as each of us strives to continue the excellence of Catholic education through the Millennium. May this Season of Advent remind us that our treasures in life are those which are not material but which are centered in the spirit of giving. Amen.
