Let us pray.
We gather today to share our faith and nourish our bodies and souls.
Let us reflect on the many blessings which our loving Heavenly Father has granted each of us.
We thank God for this beautiful day and all the possibilities it brings. Let us not be blind to what it offers.
We thank God for this opportunity to pause from our busy routines and open our minds and hearts to what is spoken here today. Let us be ready to respond in kindness to others.
We thank God for laughter and song and may we never forget to keep both in our work and our lives. Let us find joy in all that surrounds us.
May we always be thankful of God's gentle touch and healing power. In times of need, let us always turn to Him in prayer.
And, following the words of St. Terese of Avila, "may we always be guided by God, always follow God's plans, and perfectly accomplish God's holy will."
We offer this prayer through your Son Jesus Christ.
Amen.

Lord God,
Remember Christ your Son who is peace itself and who has washed away our hatred with His blood.
Because you love all men and women, look with mercy on all who are engaged in battle.
Banish the violence and evil within all combatants so that one day, we may deserve to be called your sons and daughters.
Grant this through Christ our Lord.
